Native Habitation
Native settlements have been found along the British Columbia coastline dating back thousands of years before the first Europeans first landed upon our coast. Today many of these first settlements have long since been abandoned and left to nature, the result being sites of old middens and rock paintings (petroglyphs) found in many secluded coves. This is just part of the experience one can find exploring this coastline.

Marine Life
Marine life is unsurpassed off the British Columbia coast. Twice each year gray whales migrate past Vancouver Island on their way between Mexico to Alaska providing exceptional opportunities to view these magnificent mammals. These waters are also home to other mammals including several species of sea lions and seals along with the “orca” or killer whales. The tidal zone also has an abundant variety of marine life, furnishing endless hours of tidal viewing and beachcombing.
