There are many state parks situated throughout the sound provide ample camping and public access to the water. Including Saltwater, Potlatch, Penrose and Flagler to mention a few. There are still several waterways one can still feel back to nature relatively easy within a short distance of a major metropolitan area such as Dye and Case Inlet. The Hood Canal at the western side of Puget Sound is a popular waterway approximately 50 miles long provides excellent boating opportunities and very accessible.
ACCESS: The major thoroughfare leading through southern Puget Sound is via Interstate 5(I-5) north/south along the eastern boundary. From the eastern boundary of Puget Sound, there are several ferry connections joining east and west connecting Bainbridge and Vashon Islands along with the Kitsap Peninsula.
