Loreto Bay National Park
Recently designated a National Marine Park, the islands situated off of Loreto is considered by some as Mexico’s Galapagos. There are extraordinary opportunities to view dolphins, sea lions and a variety of whales, in their natural habitat. Aside from the marine life there is a large number of birds as well from the blue-footed boobies to the magnificent frigate birds and countless squadrons of brown pelicans soaring overhead and diving straight into the water. Isla Carmen is considered the premier paddling destination you’ll find hidden bays sea caves, arches and a ghost town that once bustled with the salt trade. There are several other smaller islands in the area that are well worth checking out such as Danzante, Coronado and Monserrate.
Who Pays?
The fee applies to nationals and foreigners, except for local residents of Loreto. People under 6 and over 60 years old are excluded of this fee.
The fee is per day and per person and applies to the people who lands or disembarks on any of the islands at any time and period, anchoring, snorkeling and other aquatic actives in the marine park as well.
Where and When to Pay?
At the moment the only way to make this payment is through some tourist agencies. If you are on your own payment should be done prior to your entrance to the marine park.
If you are in a packaged tour it can be done at our office. You will receive an armband (wristband) per day per person, which could be used at any time but only once.
